iDon't Care

Yall know I always rep for the home team so it's not a surprise that you see Chris Blake on my site again. Hey, he's a personal favorite. Not just because of his boyish cute face, or his weird nasal voice, but because his music is original and not just in a "doesn't sound like Memphis rap" kind of way, but more in a "that's hilarious, he's wild for that..." kind of way. It's lyrical and witty, but raw and heartfelt at the same time.

After running into a few bumps in the road last year, Blake's labor of love, Everybody Loves Chris Blake: Season 1 will finally be released just in time for "Earth Day" on 4.20.11. I had the opportunity to hear the new mixtape, which sounds more like an album, about two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to see how much he has grown musically from his first mixtape, Check the Campaign.

Well, here's the first single off the mixtape, iDon't Care, which features two Memphis urban legends, Rich Bum, whose vocals can be heard on Yo Gotti's Full Time, and trumpet player Nahshon Benford who has been on everything from MTV's $5 Cover to stages all over the country. The track was produced by Radikalous Productions and of course is blessed by Blake's lyrics which gives us a peek into his life.

Enjoy I say!
